The Dream Seeker
Michael J. Sullivan

Dylan Steward, a Vietnam veteran, learned to live only for the present and never dream about the future. His wife, Willow, was the opposite—an idealist who believed dreams could change the world, and she longed for children to help make that dream real.

Dylan balanced his work as a reporter with his true love: playing jazz. His career at the LA Times took off, and he formed a meaningful friendship with Willis Carpenter, an older disabled man who sold magazines in the building. With Willow pregnant, Dylan’s life seemed perfect—until a nurse’s mistake during an exam caused Willow to hemorrhage and die.

Devastated, Dylan collapsed into alcoholism and nearly lost his job. Willis Carpenter stepped in to help save him, leading Dylan on a journey to France to interview Willis and a woman named Anastasie Bouchet. There, Dylan discovers that dreams—something he had long rejected—can heal, inspire, and give life meaning again.
